 Dr. Subhash Gupta
CEO & Chief Scientist
Before co- founding Apex Decisions, Dr. Gupta founded IDeaS in 1989 with Mr. Sanjay Nagalia and Dr. Ravi Mehrotra. IDeaS is the leader in Hospitality Decision Systems and is the only company that guarantees a minimum increase of 4% in revenues through its solutions. Dr. Gupta was the Chairman of IDeaS

Dr. Gupta brings to the table a deep insight in decision-making systems and real-time distribution scheduling. He has worked in all the four major centers in Particle Physics: SLAC, CERN, Fermilab and IAS, and has had stints at AT&T Bell Labs, Texas Instruments and Center for Strategic Technology and Research organization (CSTaR), a part of Accenture.
While at AT&T Bell Labs, he worked on support system architecture for the public-switched telephone network. At Texas Instruments, he did pioneering work on real-time distribution scheduling and planning systems in highly volatile environments. He also developed new algorithms and parallel architectures of linear systems. He designed placement, routing, and minimization algorithms for Very Large Scale Integrated Circuits (VLSI) design.
In 1988, Dr. Gupta founded and became the lead scientist for the Decision Technology Lab of CSTaR, the Center for Strategic Technology and Research, a part of Accenture. Here he was responsible for research and development of powerful automated techniques for decision making in real-time, highly volatile, global, high-impact business environments.
Dr. Gupta is the author of numerous patent applications and frequent articles in major international journals. He was one of the youngest Ph.D. graduates in Physics from Columbia University. He holds an M.S. degree in Physics from Columbia University, including an M.A., an M. Phil., and a Ph.D.
Sanjay Nagalia
VP - Products and Services, Co-founder
Mr. Nagalia has extensive expertise and experience in development and deployment of real time decision-making systems. Before starting Apex Decisions, he co-founded IDeaS in 1989 where he was responsible for product development and solution delivery to the clients worldwide. He was directly responsible for delivering the "guaranteed increase of 4% in revenue" that IDeaS offered.
Prior to IDeaS, Mr. Nagalia worked for AT&T Bell Laboratories where he led a design team for developing an intelligent Public Access Terminal for large public areas such as airports and malls. He coordinated development of Videotex Communication System, a database server for Videotex Images, and worked on the design and development of AT&T's first Credit Card Caller. As a consultant to the International Airports Authority of India, he also designed and developed improved methodology for the flow of airline cargo at the Delhi and Bombay airports.
Mr. Nagalia holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an M.S. degree in Computer Science from University of Maryland.
Vidya Kant Kala
Managing Director & Vice President
Vidya Kant Kala (VK) heads Apex Decisions in India. He is a graduate of the Regional Engineering College Jaipur, India and has completed a masters program at the Indian Institute of Technology,Kharagpur.
A former officer in the Indian Air Force, VK was awarded the prestigious Vice Chief of Air Staff Commendation for services at Air Headquarters and is a graduate of the prestigious Defense Services Staff College. While in the Indian Air Force, VK headed large, multi disciplinary teams that specialized in aircraft, communication and navigation systems. VK had the privilege of working in both staff as also field appointments in Indian Air Force.
Prior to joining Apex Decisions, VK was Managing Director and Vice President at IDeaS, the leading provider of hospitality revenue optimization solutions and one of America's fastest growing technology companies. Over a period of seven years, VK built a world-class technical team at IDeaS and the IDeaS Technology Center of Excellence in Pune, India, growing it from ground up to a large team . VK also played a major role in establishing IDeaS in the Indian hospitality market, and winning some of the major accounts. Amongst his other roles at IDeaS, he led the worldwide service delivery as well as being responsible for a business unit.
Rajeev Arora
Vice President
Rajeev heads the Research and Development team at development center at Bangalore and is responsible for developing all software components of solutions created at Apex Decisions. Rajeev has over 18 years of software development experience across technologies and platforms. He is well versed with global software delivery models having successfully delivered several large projects from India based software development centers to corporations globally.
Prior to joining Apex Decisions, Rajeev was part of the team at IDeaS, which successfully delivered "guaranteed increase in revenues", to the hospitality sector. At IdeaS, he was responsible for development and quality assurance of key software components.
Rajeev holds both bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a master's degree in Management from BITS, Pilani.
