Apex/Integration Platform

Apex/Integration Platform strings together the Apex Decisions solution with external systems. It receives/extracts data from operational systems and delivers the decision parameters to the execution systems. Apex/IP has a three layered architecture:

The first layer called the Integration Services Layer, is where meta data and business logic is implemented.

A/IP transports data from external systems to Integration Services using a variety of mechanisms, called "Connectors" including (but not limited to) SOAP, XML, MQ-Series, D-COM, CORBA, Relational Data Base Query, Text files, Messages. The method is chosen depending on the environment available for each of the disparate systems and based on the need for real-time or batch processing. Wherever possible, real-time processing is preferred.
