Position Inventory
Merchandisers often struggle with best way to position their inventory asset, i.e., how much to send to each store? For each style there are colors and sizes to consider. Specific stores may have a different size profile. If a particular store gets much more of a size than it sells it will cause markdowns. On the contrary, too little (as compared to need) of a given size will result in lost sales.
